Ethereum Foundation launches ERC-7730 clear signing standard to address blind signing risk

Techub News, according to CryptoBriefing, the Ethereum Foundation has announced the launch of the Clear Signing (ERC-7730) open standard, aiming to replace blind signing with human-readable transaction descriptions, allowing users to view specific operations, amounts, and expected results before signing, thereby reducing security risks.

The standard maps raw transaction data into readable descriptions, enabling wallets to convert technical data locally without altering the Ethereum transaction mechanism. Project contributors include mainstream wallets and security institutions such as Ledger, Trezor, and MetaMask, while the ERC-8176 certification framework has been introduced to ensure descriptor integrity.
