Techub News reported, according to CoinDesk, the latest report from Wall Street investment bank Jefferies shows that as of January 31, Tether's gold reserves have reached approximately 148 tons, valued at around $23 billion, placing it among the world's top 30 gold holders. In the fourth quarter of 2025 and January 2026, Tether purchased a total of approximately 32 tons of physical gold, with its purchasing speed second only to Poland and Brazil. Its current gold holdings have surpassed those of several countries including Australia, the UAE, and Qatar. Previously, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company plans to allocate 10%-15% of its portfolio to physical gold to support its USDT stablecoin and XAUT gold coin.
