Techub News reports, according to Channel NewsAsia, Polish lawmakers passed a cryptocurrency regulation bill on Friday to implement the EU's MiCA regulations. At the same time, Polish prosecutors are conducting a fraud investigation into the exchange Zondacrypto, determining that user losses exceed 350 million zloty (approximately $95.93 million). The exchange's founder went missing in 2022, and his successor is currently in Israel, making extradition difficult. Zondacrypto was once the largest exchange in Poland, with thousands of users unable to withdraw funds. Polish Prime Minister Tusk has accused it of being involved with Russian mafia funds. According to reports, the bill had previously been vetoed twice by the president. If it is not formally implemented before July, Polish entities will lose the eligibility to provide cryptocurrency asset services.
Techub News reports, according to Cointelegraph, Polish law enforcement is investigating cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto after users reported difficulties withdrawing funds. The exchange's CEO stated that a cold wallet containing approximately 4,500 Bitcoin (worth about $360 million) is inaccessible, claiming the private keys have not been handed over since the founder disappeared in 2022. Estonia's Financial Supervision Authority has issued an investor warning regarding the exchange and its parent company. The exchange's CEO denies rumors of insolvency, asserting that all customer obligations will be fulfilled. However, reports indicate that the CEO has been silent on social media since April 16 and has flown to Israel. Polish investigators launched an inquiry in April, and as of now, the exchange's users still report being unable to withdraw funds.
