ZK Nation: Proposal to upgrade ZK token to ZKTokenV3, enabling "permissionless burning" and enforcing a 21 billion hard cap

Techub News, The ZK Nation community has released ZIP-14, proposing an upgrade of the ZK token contract to ZKTokenV3. It introduces three new features: "Public Burning" (any token holder can permanently burn their own tokens); addresses with the BURNER_ROLE can burn tokens from designated accounts; and the maximum supply of 21 billion ZK is made public and enforced at the time of minting. The proposal also intends to grant the BURNER_ROLE_ADMIN to the Protocol Governor Timelock to align with ZKnomics supply management and subsequent fee switch design. The voting window will open in mid-November, with specific details subject to the governance portal.
