The Australian payment draft proposes to support the interoperability of stablecoins and tokenized fiat currencies.

Techub News, according to crypto.news, the Australian Account-to-Account Payment Roundtable has released a draft stating that future payment systems need to support interoperability of stablecoins and tokenized fiat currencies, allowing secure conversion between bank money and tokenized fiat currencies. The document, co-developed by the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Federal Treasury, and other institutions, notes that tokenized currency is moving from experimentation to application. The country is currently testing tokenized settlement through Project Acacia, and the Treasury proposed in November last year to bring digital asset platforms under the regulation of financial services licenses.
