Developer launches Claude Code desktop dashboard hardware Clawdmeter

Techub News, according to TechCrunch, Icelandic developer Hermann Haraldsson has released an open-source hardware project called Clawdmeter, which can display Claude Code usage statistics in real-time on a desktop dashboard. The device connects to a computer via Bluetooth and shows token consumption data in pixel animation format, reflecting Claude's deep penetration into the developer community and the rise of the "tokenmaxxing" productivity trend. The device is built around the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-2.16 display, powered by a lithium battery, and can display session and weekly usage charts. Buttons on the side of the device support Claude Code voice mode and mode switching shortcuts, while the center button is used to toggle between animations and data views. Haraldsson stated that Claude helped him complete embedded development within days, demonstrating AI's role in democratizing programming.
