Hut 8 signs 15-year lease for $9.8 billion AI data center

Techub News, according to Decrypt, Bitcoin mining company Hut 8 announced it has signed a 15-year AI data center lease agreement worth a total of $9.8 billion, involving 352 megawatts of IT capacity at its Beacon Point campus in Texas. The facility was originally used for Bitcoin mining and later converted into AI infrastructure based on the Nvidia DSX architecture. This deal brings Hut 8's total contracted AI data center capacity to 597 megawatts. The tenant is an anonymous high-investment-grade company, with the first data halls expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2027.
