JPMorgan: The Crypto Market Structure Bill is expected to be approved by mid-year and become a positive catalyst in the second half of the year.
Techub News reported, according to The Block, an analyst team led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, Managing Director at JPMorgan, stated in a report that the U.S. cryptocurrency market structure legislation, the "CLARITY Act," may be approved around mid-year and serve as a positive catalyst in the second half of the year. Currently, the bill has been advanced by the House of Representatives, while the Senate is still deliberating, with two major points of contention: stablecoin yield issues and conflicts of interest among government officials.
JPMorgan analysts noted, "If passed, it would reshape the market structure by providing regulatory clarity, ending 'regulation by enforcement,' promoting tokenization, and fostering broader institutional participation." Furthermore, the analysts listed eight potential positive impacts, including token classification alleviating the compliance burden for major tokens, supporting innovation in the U.S. market, unlocking secondary trading, allowing traditional banks to directly custody digital assets, promoting real-world asset tokenization, protecting open-source developers, providing tax exemptions for small transactions in daily crypto payments, and advancing the development of inter-institutional tokenized deposits.
