The main suspect in the BITGIN cryptocurrency exchange money laundering case has been indicted in Taiwan.

Techub News reported, according to UDN, prosecutors in China's Taiwan have indicted a total of 10 people, including the defunct cryptocurrency exchange BITGIN, its responsible person Liu Yusen, CEO Zhang Hansen, and COO Zhang Yuting from Bijing Technology Company. Among them, the Zhang siblings may face up to 12 years in prison. Prosecutors allege that the company collaborated with a fraud ring in 2023 to carry out fraud and money laundering by providing USDT and coordinating offline cash transactions with "fake currency dealers." The case involves 46 victims, with fraud amounts exceeding NT$150 million. The related funds were transferred through cryptocurrency wallets and overseas exchanges to conceal their origins.
